N.B. The Clerks of the Assistant Commissarys are allo'd thirty-five Dollars
per month, & Scalemen thirty dollars. Coopers one dollar per day.
Bakers from six pounds to seven pounds ten shillings per month.
The Assistant Commisarys appoint their own clerks & Scalemen. Several
of the present Commissarys were formerly in the Army, but I can't say
what Rank they severally held. The above Return Contains the Names of
the Commissarys at present in the Service, many have been discharged,
& others have resigned.
Mr. Gustavus Risturg [?] has acted as Assist. D.C.G. of Issues, and receiving
stores from the former Commissary General. His name is not inserted in
the above Return, but his service has been more than that of an Assistant
of Issues.
